What are cookies?

1. Why we use them

2. Main categories
Essential: authentication, session continuity, security and requested payment functions.
Preferences: language, interface choices and convenience settings.
Analytics: information about visits and content use, including Jetpack Stats; analytics can involve server requests even without a persistent cookie.
External content: identifiers used by services such as YouTube and payment providers when their features load. Some providers may use data for their own measurement or advertising purposes under their policies. This is not a claim that PanjabiBook operates Meta’s advertising system.
3. Where cookies are used
Cookies may be used when you browse PanjabiBook, sign in, change preferences, interact with community features or use support checkout. Third-party cookies or identifiers may be used when external players or payment features load. Visiting another website through a link is governed by that website’s policies. This policy does not claim that PanjabiBook tracks your activity across all other websites or apps.
4. Providers and examples
WordPress uses login and preference cookies. WooCommerce uses cart and checkout session cookies. WooPayments and its payment partners can use identifiers for payment processing and fraud prevention. Jetpack/Automattic supports site statistics and connected services. Google/YouTube can process browser information when embedded videos are used. Exact cookie names and behavior vary with configuration, provider changes and your actions; these are examples of the technologies involved, not a complete cookie scan.
5. How long they remain
Session cookies usually end with the browsing session. Persistent cookies remain until their expiry or until you remove them. Local storage can remain until you or the site clears it; session storage generally ends when its tab or session closes. “Remember me” and similar choices can extend a login. Actual expiry depends on the provider and configuration. Browser privacy tools can show stored items and their expiry where available. Clearing cookies does not erase information already stored in your PanjabiBook account or in payment records.
6. Your controls
Open your browser’s privacy or site-data settings to view or delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or restrict storage for a specific website. Settings differ by browser and device. You may need to repeat your choices on each browser or device. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in, preferences or checkout from working. You can sign out to end the current login and use external providers’ own privacy settings for their services. Deleting a cookie does not necessarily stop future collection if you continue using a feature that sets it.
