About this policy
This policy explains how PanjabiBook handles personal information when you visit panjabibook.com, create an account, participate in the community, contact us or make a support payment. PanjabiBook is the name under which this website is operated. For privacy questions and requests, contact support@panjabibook.com. This policy covers PanjabiBook; independent websites and services have their own policies.
1. Information you provide
We collect the information you submit, such as your account name, username, email, password credentials, profile details, biography, photos and other uploads. Community activity can include posts, comments, reactions, friendships, follows, group memberships, messages and reports. Contact requests include the details and preferred reply language you enter. Payment records can include your billing contact information, contribution amount, currency, transaction reference and payment status. Provide only information needed for the feature you are using.
2. Technical information and cookies
Our website and service providers can receive IP addresses, browser and device information, page addresses, referrers, timestamps, login events and error or security logs when you use the site. Cookies and similar browser storage support sign-in, preferences and payment sessions. Jetpack Stats is used to understand visits and popular content. See the Cookies Policy for more about browser storage and controls. We do not claim that all visits are anonymous.
3. Why we use information
We use information to operate accounts and community features, deliver messages and requested notifications, process support payments, respond to questions, investigate reports, reduce spam and abuse, troubleshoot problems and understand service use. We also retain information when needed to comply with applicable law or resolve disputes. Where a legal basis is required, processing depends on the purpose: providing a requested service, legitimate operational and security interests, legal obligations, or consent where required. Consent may be withdrawn for processing that relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. What other people can see
Your profile and content may be visible to other people depending on the feature and available audience settings. Public content may be copied, reshared or indexed by search engines. Messages are shared with their recipients, who may save or forward them. Do not assume messages or calls are end-to-end encrypted. Authorized administrators and providers may process stored information to operate the service, investigate abuse or meet legal obligations. Photos can contain embedded location or other metadata; remove information you do not want to disclose before uploading.
5. Providers, payments and disclosures
Service providers process information needed for hosting, delivery, security, analytics, support and payments. The site uses WordPress with BuddyPress and rtMedia community features, Hostinger services, Jetpack/Automattic and WooCommerce/WooPayments. Installing software does not mean its developer receives every item of user data. Payment details are processed by the payment service shown at checkout; WooPayments uses payment infrastructure including Stripe. We receive transaction records needed to administer payments. Information may also be disclosed when legally required, to address fraud or safety issues, or in a business transfer subject to applicable protections.
6. AI assistance and voice features
PanjabiBook AI uses Google Gemini to generate replies. When you send an AI request, your question and conversation context needed for the reply are sent to the AI provider. Its handling of submissions depends on the service tier, account configuration and applicable provider terms; do not assume your submissions are excluded from provider review or model improvement. Voice features may use your browser or device’s speech services, and those services may process audio externally; recognized text can be sent as an AI question. Microphone and camera access depend on device permissions. Do not submit passwords, full payment details or confidential medical, legal or other sensitive information.
7. Embedded content and external links
YouTube videos, live streams and other external content may connect your browser to the external provider, which can receive technical information and use cookies according to its own policies. If you are signed into that provider, it may associate activity with your account. An external link takes you to a service outside our control. Review the provider’s privacy choices before using its content.
8. Retention and deletion
Account information and community content are generally kept while your account or content remains active, unless deletion is requested or moderation requires removal. Retention also depends on the purpose, technical backups, security needs, outstanding disputes and legal recordkeeping. Payment records may need to remain after account deletion. Deletion may not remove copies already saved or shared by others. Request deletion or a copy of your data through support; we may need to verify ownership and explain any lawful retention exceptions. We do not promise an unverified fixed deletion or backup-expiry period.
9. Your choices and rights
Use available profile and account settings to edit information and review visibility. Manage cookies in your browser and camera or microphone permissions on your device. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection, withdraw consent, or opt out of covered data uses such as sale, sharing or targeted advertising where relevant. This describes possible legal rights, not a statement that PanjabiBook engages in each of those activities. Send requests to support@panjabibook.com. We may verify your identity proportionately, but never ask for your account password. You may also contact your local privacy regulator and, where applicable, appeal a decision by replying to our response.
10. Children, security and international processing
PanjabiBook is not intended for children under 13 or below a higher minimum age required locally. If you believe a child has provided information contrary to this rule, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. We use access controls and operational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee complete security. Providers may process information in countries other than yours, with different privacy laws. Where legally required, cross-border processing must be supported by appropriate safeguards.
